10/20/19
This assignment wast to design a card back for an image of the 10 of spades from Pixabay. I’ve overlaid the 10 with several textures to make the card look antique. The card back is an image from adobeStock, mirrored and recolored. The “brand” is in Shark font, outlined and filled with a gradient that gets its colors from the feathers. I though that the extended A of the font went really well with the shape of the feathers.
I really got into this design and came up with lots of card backs — and had a terrible time choosing even the best four. I’ll show two here.
The card back below is made with a free phone app called Adobe Capture. With the pattern setting. You take a picture of anything (in this case, a plaid blouse) and it created a pattern. You can choose from several different-sided shapes. Even moving the camera a tiny bit can create an entirely new pattern. Capture saves the patterns you create to your Creative Cloud so you can use them in many of the full adobe programs. It’s lots of fun! Click here to see it in action.
